The TERRA Bath Bomb Kit Tutorial
In a large mixing bowl, combine and mix the citric acid and a cup of baking soda (from your pantry). Make sure to break up any clumps of powder. Drizzle grapeseed oil and the essential oil blend over the dry ingredients, mix the ingredients until it is evenly combined.
Add 1 tsp to 2 tsp of water to the mixture slowly, only a few drops at a time, and quickly blend the mixture to minimize reaction. Test a little bit of the mixture in the palm of your hand. It should stick together like wet sand.
** Using the right amount of water is the key to making beautiful bath bombs. You want to use the least amount of water, only adding a little at a time, to get your mixture to stick together, but not so much that the mixture becomes active.**
Once your mixture is well-blended and achieves the “wet sand” consistency, you are ready to add to the molds. Each mold should be filled so the tops are mounded over. Place one mold in each hand and push them together firmly. Brush away excess product from the edge.
Your mixture should be firmly stuck together at this point. If it is not sticking, you can try adding more mixture to the molds, or repeat step 3 and start the molding process again.
Gently tap the top of the mold and carefully remove it. Place aside (paper towel is a good option for this) and allow the bath bombs to dry overnight. Repeat this process for the remainder of the bath bombs.
